Clarification Announcement
The Directors of Emperor Entertainment Hotel Limited (the “Company”) have noted the recent media reports on the closure of casino inside Emperor Hotel & Casino (the “Hotel”) in Rason, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and wish to make clarification as follows:
The Hotel is operated by a private company under Emperor Group and is not an operation under any of listed companies within the Group, namely Emperor Entertainment Hotel Limited (Stock Code: 296), Emperor International Holdings Limited (Stock Code: 163) and Emperor Entertainment Group Limited (Stock Code: 8078).
It is also confirmed that the Hotel and other facilities are in normal operation, except that the casino was closed for renovation on 15 January 2005 by the Hotel management. The Hotel management intends to upgrade the casino facilities during the current low season period while the number of customers is expected to be at low level. The casino will resume business upon completion of renovation.
